Cygnus Cargo Ship Faces Propulsion Issues on Way to ISS

Cygnus Cargo Ship Encounters Engine Problems

Northrop Grumman’s NG-23 Cygnus cargo spacecraft is currently experiencing propulsion anomalies while en route to the International Space Station (ISS). On the morning of September 16, 2025, the spacecraft’s engines failed to operate correctly during two crucial burns. These engine burns are essential for raising the orbit and ensuring a safe rendezvous with the ISS.

Delay in Arrival at the ISS

Due to these propulsion anomalies, the arrival of Cygnus at the ISS will be delayed. Mission controllers are now assessing the situation and working on solutions to resolve the issue. The safety of the spacecraft and the success of its mission remain top priorities for Northrop Grumman and NASA. Updates will follow as engineers continue to troubleshoot and guide the cargo ship toward a safe approach.
