A devastating fire broke out at a chemical warehouse in Mirpur’s Rupnagar. The Fire Service reported that 16 bodies were recovered from the incident. However, the victims’ identities could not be confirmed through visual identification.
DNA Testing Essential for Victim Identification
Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Tajul Islam Chowdhury, the Director of Operations & Maintenance, stated on Tuesday evening that DNA tests are now essential to identify the victims. He emphasized that the fire’s intensity made visual identification impossible. Families of the deceased will now have to wait for the results of the DNA analysis to know the fate of their loved ones.
