India’s Response to the US Commission
India has firmly responded to the US Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF), which recommended designating India as a “country of particular concern” due to alleged violations of religious freedom. The Indian government characterized this report as a “deliberate agenda”, asserting that USCIRF continues to produce politically motivated assessments.
In its statement, India emphasized that the USCIRF should itself be regarded as an entity of concern, highlighting the ongoing tension between the two nations regarding religious freedoms and human rights.
