Mediators Push for New Gaza Ceasefire Agreement
International mediators are awaiting Israel’s response to a fresh Gaza ceasefire proposal that closely mirrors a recent US-backed plan. Qatar has confirmed the proposal is “almost identical” to the US initiative, which calls for a 60-day truce between Israel and Hamas. This crucial window aims to secure the release of around half of the remaining 50 hostages held in Gaza.
