SpaceX Prepares for Starship’s 11th Historic Launch
SpaceX is making headlines again as it readies its 11th Starship launch from Starbase in Cameron County. The much-anticipated event is scheduled for Monday, October 13, with a 75-minute launch window starting at 6:15 p.m. Central Time. Starship’s last liftoff took place on August 26, and this new mission promises exciting advancements and rigorous testing.
What to Expect from Starship’s Next Launch
SpaceX will conduct flight experiments to stress-test Starship’s heatshield and employ maneuvers simulating the upper stage’s final approach for future returns. The launch will utilize the rocket’s 33 powerful Raptor engines, so residents in Cameron County and nearby areas should expect loud noises when the engines ignite and the vehicle ascends.
Due to the launch, authorities have ordered a temporary closure of Boca Chica Beach and State Highway 4 from FM 1419 to the Boca Chica Beach entrance. The closure begins at noon on launch day and ends at 10 p.m. Central Time. SpaceX continues to push the boundaries of space exploration, and this launch is another crucial step towards returning Starship safely to its launch site in the future.
