US and China Nearing Major Trade Agreement
Trade negotiations between the United States and China are making significant progress, according to U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer. Speaking in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday, Greer stated that talks are advancing to a stage where President Donald Trump and President Xi Jinping can meet for a productive discussion later this week.

Key Issues on the Table
The recent round of talks, which began Saturday, covered a wide range of topics. Greer confirmed that negotiators discussed important issues such as rare earths and the possibility of extending the truce on current trade measures. Both sides appear committed to resolving ongoing disputes and creating a framework for future cooperation.
President Trump is expected to meet President Xi on Thursday in South Korea, capping off his five-day trip across Malaysia, Japan, and South Korea. The upcoming meeting signals a potential breakthrough in US-China trade relations. Trump arrived in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday to participate in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations summit and to witness a ceasefire agreement between Thailand and Cambodia.
