Bioware’s Unfulfilled Ambitions for Dragon Age: Origins Remaster
Dragon Age: Origins remains a classic RPG favorite, but fans have often wondered why it never received a remaster or remake. Recently, former executive producer Mark Darrah revealed that Bioware had “lots of pitches” for a remaster of Dragon Age: Origins. The team passionately wanted to bring the beloved game back with modern enhancements, similar to what BioWare did with the Mass Effect Legendary Edition.
EA’s Reluctance Puts Plans on Ice
Despite the enthusiasm from Bioware’s developers, EA never greenlit the project. Darrah explained that the team repeatedly brought forward remaster pitches, but EA’s leadership chose not to support the idea. This decision left many gamers disappointed, especially as demand for a Dragon Age: Origins remaster continues to grow. For now, fans will have to revisit the original game or hope that EA reconsiders in the future. Sources:
